 The Low Ponytail

A low ponytail can be super chic when done right. With this sleek style, you’ll be ready to show that meeting who’s boss. You’ll need a brush or comb and a hair elastic to complete this look.

STEP 1: PREP YOUR HAIR
To get started, part your hair down the middle and brush through to get any tangles out.

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR PARTING
Left, right and centre…decide on whether you want to part your hair in the middle or if you’d rather wear it to the side. Slick, center parting is a total celeb favourite. It can help enhance your natural symmetry and make your eyes pop. Opt for a sharp low side-part for a seriously boss hairstyle.

STEP 3: CREATE A PONYTAIL
Pull your hair back at the nape of your neck. Make sure not to pull back too tightly. Leaving your ponytail loose enough to allow some hair to cover the tips of your ears will make the style look less harsh and more effortless.

STEP 4: SECURE WITH A BOBBLE
Secure the ponytail you just gathered your hair into at the nape of the neck with a hair elastic. If you have waist-length tresses, don’t be afraid to move your ponytail up an inch or two. It will still have the same poised effect as a low ponytail, but it won’t get in your way while you work.

STEP 5: PUMP UP THE VOLUME
Add volume at the crown of your head by pulling up some of your hair with your fingers.

The Ballerina Bun

Ballerina buns are great because of their practicality -  they keep all of your hair out of your face - but they’re also a sophisticated style perfect for any work environment. You’ll need a brush or comb, hair elastic and some hairspray to get this look down.

STEP 1: GET RID OF TANGLES
Comb through your hair to make sure it’s tangle-free.

STEP 2: CREATE A PONYTAIL
Pull your hair back into a ponytail, using a comb or brush to remove any bumps. Secure the ponytail, making sure it’s tight.

STEP 3: TWIST THE PONYTAIL
Twist your ponytail all the way to the ends to help create a more secure bun.

STEP 4: WRAP THE PONYTAIL
In the same direction you twisted your hair, wrap the ponytail around its base to form a bun.

STEP 5: SECURE THE BUN
You can’t expect your ballerina bun to stay in place all on its own. Secure your style with bobby pins and hairspray.
